He was predeceased by: his parents, Holland Smith and Joan Smith (Sharpe). He is survived by: his wife Rose M. Smith; his children, Erik Smith (Denise) of Saco and Kristin Boyd of Standish; his grandchildren, Amelia Smith, Liam Smith, Azarie Sims (Andre) and Ethan Boyd; his stepgrandsons, Anthony and Garrett; his stepgreat-granddaughter Addison; and his sister Marjorie Grant. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
