With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard H. Brooks of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, born in Newport, New Hampshire, who passed away on October 10, 2021 at the age of 88. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Richard H. Brooks to pay them a last tribute.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Judson Brooks and Bertha Brooks (Houghton); his wife Joan E. Brooks; his children, Richard D. Brooks (Kimberly) of Cape Elizabeth, Stephen H. Brooks of Cape Elizabeth and Kathleen M. Jalbert (Jay) of Cape Elizabeth; his grandsons, William A. Brooks, Michael R. Brooks and Christopher J. Gallant; and his sisters, Elizabeth King, Harriet Hathaway, Ethel Czechowicz, Sabra Keery and Mary K. Dugar.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

“I was saddened to learn of Dick's passing. My sympathy to Dick's snd Joan's family. I met Dick when we were employed at Baker & Adam and Peat, Marwick, Mitchel & Co. and enjoyed good times bowling, fishing and our frequent lunches. Dick, a born left hander, and had the ability to operate an adding machine with his left hand while writing with his right hand and to bowl with either hand. Dick, may your debits and credits always balance.”
