In the vast expanse of eternity, Arla Faye shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Arla Faye farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Nathan Edelman and Sadie Edelman; her sister Roma Kleiman of Clayton, MO; and her husband Richard Shain Cohen of Cape Elizabeth. She is survived by: her children, Mylan Cohen, MD of Cape Elizabeth and Candace Cohen of Portland. She is also survived by six grandchildren.
She ran a reading program in Presque Isle for children with disabilities and served as the Director of RSVP for the Aroostook Area Agency on Aging.
In Arla's memory, donations may be made to the Maine Council on Aging.
