He is survived by: his parents, William Merchant and Ann Merchant (Hickox); his spouse Kristeen Carter; his children, Ray Merchant (Mel) of New Sharon and Shelly Merchant of Canton; his grandson Levi Merchant of New Sharon; and his siblings, William and Deborah Barnyard.
