He is survived by: his wife Judith S. Richards; his sister Georgia; and his nephews, Tom Harriman (Jill), Fred Harriman, Paul Richards, Calvin Richards and Kevin Chapin (Dawn).

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the Richards family has chosen to remember his life privately.
