He is survived by: his parents, George Cookson and Annie Cookson (Knights); his son Alston "Rusty" Cookson, Jr.; his wife Robin of Cambridge; his grandchildren, Nathan Cookson of Benton and Kaitlin Cookson of Benton; and also, Merle Shields, Violet Shields of Mercer, Lyman Snow, Carol Snow of Wayne and Pat Cookson.
