He was loved and cherished by many people including: his grandparents, Greg Hold and Shirley Hold; and his father James Hold.
At 6'8" Jacob was a shining light that made his family proud as they watched him grow into the smart and talented man he was becoming. He was proud to have recently begun work as an underground utilities crew member with Southland Holdings in Charlotte, NC. Jacob was predeceased by his two great grandfathers, Gordon Lord and Atwood Merrill. He is survived by his grandparents, Greg and Shirley Hold of FL; his father, James Hold and Samantha Vetter of Davenport FL; mother, Elisha Altvater of Bangor; siblings, Danielle, Chett, Rihanna and Ellanor; great grandmothers, Marlene Lord of Crawford, Mary Merrill of Calais and Mary Bassett of Pleasant Point; aunts and uncles, Christina Hold and David McArty, Trevor Hold and his wife Tova, Brett Hold and his wife Ann and Eva Bragg; great aunts and uncles, Betty Burgess and her husband Dan, Rick Lord and his wife Ruthie, Cathy Henry and her husband Mark and Debbie Niles and her husband Bruce, Helen Adams and her husband Earl, cousins, TJ, Ashlee, Carson, Delayne, Cole, Kiarra, Tristen, Eden, Charlotte, James and Ethan; a special second cousin, Luke; a "Big Brother" Andy Page; his close friend, Elliott; nephew, Atreyu and his canine companion, Banjo. Loved by so many, Jacob has given lasting memories that will be cherished by those he leaves behind. A celebration of Jacob's life will begin 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 12th at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais with a gathering to follow at the Breakneck Mountain Snowriders Club House, Cooper Rd., Alexander. A second celebration of Jacob's life will also be held in Florida and announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jacob's memory can be made to the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast, 4100 SW Leighton Farm Ave., Palm City, FL 34990 in honor of Banjo whom he adopted.
