He was predeceased by: his parents, Rene Melanson and Josephine Melanson (Gaudet); his wife Charlotte Melanson (James); and his siblings, Leah Durphy, Dennis and Albert Melanson.
He is survived by: his children, Jeannie Ferry (Robert) of Princeton, Laurie Greenlaw (James) of Grove City, OH, Renee O'Neill (Peter Cordner) of Farmington, Wendy Melanson (John Shute) of Princeton, Herbert Melanson Jr. (Alison) of Orono and Holly Melanson (Gilbert Mattheson) of Dennysville; his grandchildren, Robert Ferry Jr. (Jessica), Melissa Greenlaw, Matthew Greenlaw, Michelle Ripley (Carl III), Nathan O'Neill (Ava), Jeffrey Jones (Chelsey), Lauren Melanson, Christopher Plissey (Brooke Brehaut) and Andrew Melanson; his great grandchildren, Austin, Brooklyn Ferry, Jameson, Maverick Stamper, Sophia, Avery Ripley, Theodore "Teddy", Quinn O'Neill and Bella Lynn Jones; his sisters, Annette Melanson of Toquerville, UT and Betty Monk (Greg) of Princeton; and his siblings-in-law, Jim Durphy, Arlene, Imon Roussel, Beulah and John Lane. He is also survived by his family and was so proud of his children and grandchildren.
