With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Elmer L. Doughty (Calais, Maine), born in Deer Island, New Brunswick, who passed away on August 25, 2023 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Doughty and Myrtle Doughty (Carr); his wife Judith Doughty; his great grandchild Danielle; and his close friend Phyllis Sprague.
He is survived by: his friends, Ronald Wallace, Irman Thornton and Lyman Cochran; his daughters, Wanda Smith of Alexander, Robin Higgins (Robert) of Bowdoinham, Joanne Fielding of Brunswick and Patricia Brezovsky (Kenneth) of Bucksport; his grandchildren, Robert, Chad Smith, Jamie, Jeremy, Julie Crowe, Jessica McCrum (Blaine), Jay Fielding, Jacob and Emma Brezovsky; and his siblings, Randy Doughty (Faye) of Deer Island, NB and Sharon Polk (Donald) of The Villages, FL. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren.
