He was predeceased by: his parents, Edith Burns and Ernest Burns; and his brother Bruce. He is survived by: his wife Martha Burns; his children, Lisa Burns (Suzanne Barg) and Paul Burns (Kristin Jhamb); his stepchildren, William Cossum and Carol Maher (Michael); his granddaughters, Alexandra, Rachel Burns, Colleen and Megan Maher; and his nieces, Enid and Rebecca Burns.
