He was predeceased by: his parents, George L. Briggs and Mary Sawyer Briggs; and his siblings, Richard Sawyer, Chester Briggs, Emily J. Brockway and Rebecca Dennison.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Durgin Briggs; his children, Holly Rogers (Mark) of Bowdoinham, ME and Michael Briggs of Atlanta, GA; his stepsons, Greg Coffin (Kerry Bishop) of Gray, ME, Thomas (Amy) of Galena, OH and Robert Coffin of Worthington, OH.; his grandchildren, Trent Anderson (Sara) of Brunswick, ME, Sydney Anderson of Bowdoinham, ME, Noah Coffin of Galena, OH and Reece Partridge of Columbus, OH.; his siblings-in-law, Stephen Durgin (Blanche) of Oak Hill, FL and Rosanne Durgin of Pownal, ME.; his granddaughter Sara; and his great grandchild Mike. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
