He was predeceased by: his parents, Agnes Greene Murphy and Francis Patrick Murphy; his brother Francis P. Murphy, Jr.; and his brother-in-law Robert Alan Murphy. He is survived by: his wife Cynthia D. Murphy of Brunswick; his children, Deirdra A. Murphy (Stephen E. Moriarty) of West Bath, Edward B. Murphy IV (Laurie A. Murphy) of Gardiner, Thomas P. Murphy (Jennifer L.) and Brendan D. Murphy of Topsham; and his sister Corinne Murphy of White Plains, NY.. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
