He was predeceased by: his parents, Ethelind Lena (Muchmore) and Velmore Ford; his stepfather Vernon; his brother Gerrald; and his parents-in-law, Roland and Virginia Morang of Belmont.
He is survived by: his grandfather Leland Ford; his spouse Judy Morang; his friends, Harry and Sandra Bailey; his son John Jr. of Newburgh; his grandchildren, Lucas, Elizabeth and Anna of Unity; his niece Sherry Elwell (John) of Sanford; his nephew James Morang of Phoenix, Arizona; his cousin Carol Twombley (Donald) of Sanford; and his brothers-in-law, Roland Morang (Jean) of New Portland and Stephen Morang of Belmont. He is also survived by friends, including his partner-in-crime Mark Nickerson, a retired trooper and book tour companion.
