He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Stanford and Agnes Stanford (Wheeler); his sons, Daniel Stanford and William Stanford (Bill); and his siblings, Ronald Stanford, George Stanford, Francis Elliot, Barbara Dyer and Eleanor Mercer.

He is survived by: his wife Jean Porter of Bridgton; his sons, Raymond Stanford (Christine) of Naples, Robert Stanford (Pam) of Brunswick, Donald Stanford (Susan) of Waterford and Rev. Mark Stanford (Jane) of Bangor; his stepchildren, Rick Dyer (Pam) of Harrison, Ret. and Teresa Dyer (Tom Ferent) of Bridgton; and his brothers, Clarence Stanford (Rita) of Somerville, MA and Allen Stanford (Loralee) of Winter Haven, FL. He is also survived by many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
