He was predeceased by: his parents, Roland K. Beatham and Lorraine Beatham (Hewes); and his sister Barbara St. Clair. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Beatham; his children, Kim Smith (Ryan) of Skowhegan, Jeff Beatham of Bangor and Mary Scribner (Christopher) of Linneus; his grandchildren, Adam (Makiyla), Emma, Tyler and Amelia; and his great grandchildren, Colson and Hazel.

Peter also served on the board of the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
