Abdul Ghaffar Zoq Rana Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Abdul Ghaffar Zoq Rana (Brewer, Maine), who passed away on February 13, 2022 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Choudhry Abdul Ghafoor Rana and Zohra Begum Rana; his wife Bushra Rana (Zafar-Iqbal); his children, Aroosha Zoq Rana (Saad Bokhari), Adeeba Afshan Rana, Azim Muhammad Rana and Ambureen Rana; his grandchildren, Suleiman Malcom Rana Bokhari and Zaynab Malala Rana Bokhari; his brother Ejaz Ghafoor Rana (Aliya "Pinky" Rana); his nieces and nephews, Adeel Ejaz Rana, Rameel Ejaz Rana and Fazeel Ejaz Rana; his siblings, Sikander Hayat Rana (Riaz Begum), Khizar Hayat Rana (Aisha Rana), Zahida Chaudhary (Gul) and Rukhsana Tabussum Rana; and his nieces and nephews, Adnan Rana, Saher Rana, Farhan Rana, Ghazanfar Ali, Mubashir Ali, Rukhsila Saqib, Fraz Ali Chaudhary, Ibrahim Rana, Arooj Sonia Hashmi and Mustansar Fareed. He was also cherished by his wife and siblings, an advisor for his nieces and nephews, a teacher for his children, and an inspiration for his grandchildren.

Blessed by the immense amount of family members and friends, we ask that in lieu of flowers donations made in his memory to the Islamic Center of Maine 149 Park St, Orono, ME 04473 and for prayer for Zoq and his close relatives.
