He is survived by: his children, George Kazakos, Arelitsa Kazakos and Nikos Kazakos. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren.

After getting married to Yvonne Spandoni, Takis' spirit of adventure led them to Prince Edward Island, Canada where he worked in a shipyard, and eventually transferred to Boothbay Harbor to build a foundation for his family.

“Dear Arelitsa and family, It’s been over 20 years when I spent time with you and your dad Takis in booth bay, I have many photos and good memories of that time. My father (Dimitrios Kirlis) is 86 years old, he has Alzheimer’s disease, I am his full time carer right now. His memory comes and goes.
