He was predeceased by: his parents, Marian Grab O'Connell and Maurice James O'Connell. He is survived by: his wife Sandy; his son Doug; his aunt Ellie Grab Fakoury; his grandchild Boothbay Harbor; his daughters, Kristin O'Connell (Krissy) of Denver, CO and Jaime Hilty of Las Cruces, NM; his grandchildren, Ryan, Rebecca, Sophia and Jordan; his sisters, Clare O'Connell of Hopewell Junction, NY and Lynn Smith of Annapolis, MD.; and his brothers-in-law, Tom Smith and Steve Smith of Dade City, FL.
