We are sad to announce that on September 20, 2023, at the age of 61, Mary Elizabeth Brown of Biddeford, Maine, born in Portland, Maine passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred Brown and Mary Ellen Brown (Bickford); her siblings, Barbara, Margaret (Maggie), Stephen and Alfred (Buddy); and her nephew David Stanhope (South Portland).
She is survived by: her husband Jim Ward (Biddeford); her siblings, Kathleen Osgood (South Portland), Frances Brown (South Portland) and Edward Brown (Peggy); her stepson Colin Ward of Manchester, NH; her children, Maegan Devou (Chris) and Michael (Saco); and her nieces and nephews, Timothy Brown (Wesbrook), Kevin Brown (Lewiston), Ernie Stanhope (Keely), Haley Osgood (South Portland), Moia Leighton (South Portland), Jessica Kalloch (South Portland), Aryn Leighton (California), Kane Leighton (Portland) and Rachel Stanhope (Westbrook). She is also survived by other aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations of food, clothing and financial contributions be made to Preble Street Resource Center, Florence House, World Central Kitchen, or your favorite local food pantry and shelter, because Mary believed that every little bit helps those in need.
