He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Gilstorf and Cecile Gilstorf (Parenteau); and his niece Kim Barnicle. He is survived by: his wife Angelique Duhaime (Angel); his stepdaughters, Rebbecca, Ashley, Candice and Elsie; his stepgrandchildren, Talynn and Dahlia; his sisters, Dorothy Nolette and Barbara Esty; and his nieces, Jennifer Donnelly and Valerie Nolette.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's name to a local animal shelter or to the Lynch Syndrome cancer fund.
