He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Harry Zois and Aurica Sumbasakis; his brother Nicholas H. Zois; his wife Karolyn Karle Kashmiry of Kennebunk; his children, Adam N. Zois of Marblehead, MA and Alexandra Zois Yaghoobi (Hooman Yaghoobi) of Bronxville, NY; his grandchildren, Amir Yaghoobi, Zarine Yaghoobi, Jane Zois and Nicholas Zois; and his brother-in-law Tymoor Kashmiry.
