He is survived by: his pets, Gretchen and Coco; his wife Sandra Sanders of Morgantown; his children, Mark (Cynthia), Leslie Bolster and Susan Cheney; his grandchildren, Brooke Cheney, Chad Bolster, Katherine Abbott (Gregory), Tyler Cheney and Matthew Bolster; his great grandchild Owen Gregory Abbott; and his siblings, Dr. Prescott "Mike" Cheney, Avis Ingalls and Anne Clayton.
