He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sr. Merry and Sadie Merry (Dyer); and his siblings, Earl, John Jr., Elwood, Marie Opdahl, Ina Moulton, Mildred Sylvester and Ruthie Robbins.
He is survived by: his wife Faustina L. Thompson of Swanville; his children, Judy M., Gary Arsenault of Plymouth, Jeffrey E. Merry, Shirley of Searsport, Valerie J. and Vernon Nickerson of Frankfort; and his grandchildren, Katie, Mike Lee, Matthew, Ashley Jackson, Brandi and Sadie Nickerson.
