He was predeceased by: his parents, Carroll E. Coffin and Beulah M. Coffin (White); and his brothers, Donald "Whitey" Coffin and Roger Coffin. He is survived by: his daughters, Kimberly Gerow (Aaron) of Woolwich, Lisa Koehling (David) of Phippsburg, Kim Pearson of Bath and Tina Gilley (Bobby) of Richmond; his siblings, Fay Hart of Bath, Gail Richardson (Adelbert "Squeak") of Brunswick and Larry Coffin (Thelma) of Brunswick; and his grandchildren, Joshua Gerow, Katelynn Gerow, Kelsi Koehling, Brianna Koehling, Victoria Pinkham and Kayla Hatheway. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
