He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold D. Smith and Marion Smith (Leathers); his wife Judith L. Pearson; and his siblings, Eleanor Farrington, Richard Smith and Sheldon Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Sharon Miller (David) of Newcastle and Paul Smith of Bangor; his grandchildren, Patrick, Jacob and Mya; his sisters, Roberta Scott of Sullivan, Barbara Haskell of Orrington and Gloria Falkner of Eddington; and his caregivers, Karin Lee, Gentiva and Wendy Worcester C. N. A.. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
His contributions to his community were numerous and included Member, Jaycees, Bangor's Committee of 50, Bangor's citizen's advisory committee, BanAir Corp, Mason's, and Anah Shriner's. Director, United Cerebral Palsy of Northeast Maine; Director, United Bank.
