He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Leighton and Vanonia Leighton (Gestner); his wife Patricia Leighton; and his son Steven Leighton. He is survived by: his children, Becky Craig of Orrington, Howard Leighton of Scarborough and James Leighton of Standish; his stepsons, John Clark of South Portland, William Clark of Levant and James Clark of Westbrook; his grandchildren, Jason, Cal Leighton, Jodi Malley, Julia Leighton, Brooke Leighton, Samantha, Erin Clark and Dylan Leighton; and his great grandchildren, Chase, Paislee Leighton, Carson Leighton, Adriana, Kendra and Miller Bradway.
A Mass was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Brookings-Smith (133 Center St, Bangor, ME 04401). A burial was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 at the Mt. Hope Cemetery (133 Center St, Bangor, ME 04401).
