He was predeceased by: his parents, Norbert X. Dowd Sr. and Theresa Dowd (Nelligan); and his brother Norbert X. Dowd Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Harriet Dowd of Bangor; his children, Michael Dowd (Julie), Patty Kelley (Dick Kelley) of Brewer and Karen Schwartz (Bob Schwartz) of Savannah, Tennessee; his brother Dr. Shaun N. Dowd (Marcia Biggane) of Bangor; and his grandchildren, Todd Hobert of Elkridge, Maryland, Jason Hobert (Stacey Hobert) of Glenburn, Brian Kelley (Lauren Kelley) of Orrington, Kristen Young (Erik Young) of Hampden, Adam Schwartz (Jackee Schwartz) of Las Vegas, Nevada and Christopher Schwartz of Savannah, Tennessee..
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Brookings-Smith (133 Center St, Bangor, ME 04401). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. John's Catholic Church (217 York St, Bangor, ME 04401).
