He is survived by: his parents, Shannon Richard (Ford) and Steve Coates; his sister Cloey Coates of Florida; his stepparents, Maria "Re Re" McGrath Coates of Florida and Moses Richard; and his stepsiblings, Tyler, Lexi and Kade Richard. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Penobscot County Conservation Association or the Bangor Humane Society.
