He was predeceased by: his parents, David R. Higgins and Genevieve M. Higgins (Wellehan); and his siblings, Dorothy, David and Gene Higgins.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce; his daughter Nancy Prantl (Harry) of Cameron, NC.; his grandchildren, Caitlin Irby (Jack), Mckenzie Prantl, Christina Doughtie (Cameron) and Grace Hallak; and his great grandchildren, Jay, Clare Irby, Raina and Delilah Doughtie. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family and many dear friends.
