He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Johnson and Eileen Johnson; and his brother David Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Melissa Pennamacoor; his children, Matthew Adam, Michael Charles Johnson and Meredith Lee Leinenweber (Kayla); his grandchildren, Cameron, Madison, Mia, Cylus, Gavin, Elizabeth and Penn; and his sisters, Deborah and Cathy.

Donations can be made to either the Maine's Veterans' Home in South Paris, Maine or to VFW Post 1603 , 588 Minot Avenue, Auburn.
