It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edwin Mattie Kahkonen of Auburn, Maine, who passed away on June 13, 2024, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Marjorie Kahkonen; his parents, Mattie Kahkonen and Ida Kahkonen; his children, Tom Roderick, Ken Roderick and Belinda Gagnon; and his brothers, Eino Kahkonen and Alpo Kahkonen.

He is survived by: his daughters, Edweina Terrell (Finney) and Kathleen Farrington; his son-in-law Norman; his sister-in-law Carmen Kahkonen; his daughter-in-law Nancy Roderick; and his great great grandchildren, Bradley, Ryker Terrell and Rae Lynn Woodward.
