He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Quentin Whittier and Jeannette Wilson Whittier of Auburn, Maine.; his wife Kathy; his son Brett Whittier of Tampa, Florida; his brother Ted Whittier of Placida, Florida; and his stepchildren, Aaron Mathews of Chandler, AZ and Beth Munsen of Pownal, Maine. He was also cherished by seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
