She is survived by: her husband Al Bates; her daughter Mary Dawkins (Maurice Dawkins Sr.); her grandchildren, Maurice Jr. and Dominique Howard (Taurean Howard); her great grandchildren, Tristan and Tatum; and her brother Richard (Barbara Barton).
