Edward P. Hubbard Sr. Obituary
Edward P. Hubbard Sr., age 74, of Acton, Maine, formerly of Gloucester, passed away at Beverly Hospital after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of JoAnn McCollum-Hubbard.
Ed attended Gloucester Public Schools, graduating from Gloucester High School, Class of 1968. He then attended and completed North Shore Community College Center for Corporate Training and Industrial Electronics Program. His job history included Varian Semiconductor Division, Eaton Semiconductor Division, and Axcelis Technologies, Inc.
Ed was an all-sports enthusiast. He also loved riding his ATV along the Maine trails and jet skiing on Wilson Lake.
In addition to his wife JoAnn, Ed is survived by his sons Edward Hubbard Jr. and his companion Alyssa; Daniel Hubbard and his wife Jennifer, Carl McCollum his fiancé Camille and Chris McCollum. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Cole, Bryce, and Ethan Hubbard; Trent Olivier; Chrystal McCorkel; Christopher, Jeremy, Jacob and Brianna McCollum; great-daughter Savannah Toke; brothers Ken Hubbard, James Wilson, and Judson Wilson, Jr.; mother-in-law Edith Dulong; his brothers and sisters in-law; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his beloved cat Spooky.
Ed was predeceased by his parents Nancy and Judson Wilson Sr., and his son Corey McCollum.
Ed was a very thoughtful and caring man who loved and cherished his family. He also enjoyed many special friendships. Words are not enough to express how sorrowfully he will be missed.
Visiting hours will be held in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester, MA., on Monday, November 13, from 9-10:30a.m. followed by a Mass at Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, 142 Prospect Street, Gloucester, at 11a.m. Burial in Dolliver Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to The Salvation Army Massachusetts Divisional Headquarters.
