He was predeceased by: his great great grandchild Arron McVicker. He is survived by: his sons, Gary Higgs and Craig Higgs (Alice); and his grandchildren, Amy McVicker (Tom McVicker), Nicole Markle (Kevin Markle), Bridget Cutair (Mark Cutair), Patrick Walsh-Higgs (Dana) and Danny Higgs.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Granite Presbyterian Church.
