He is survived by: his wife Doris Jean Fearnow Cornelius; his son Terry Cornelius (Linda) of Salisbury, MD; his grandchild Chris Maas (Emily); his stepgrandchildren, Lily and Brody of Apex, NC.; his daughter Cindy Rockwell (Craig) of Mercersburg, PA; his granddaughter Leah Rockwell of Mercersburg, PA; his great grandchildren, Louisa and Eve Gunkleman; his grandson Matt Rockwell (Olalla Prado) of Frederick, MD; his great grandchildren, Telmo and Uma; his granddaughter Liza Patterson (Jess) of Charleston, SC; his great grandchild Genevieve; his son Randy Cornelius (Susan) of Hagerstown, MD; his grandson Adam Cornelius (Megan) of Glen Allen, VA; his great grandchildren, Jack Mazzocco, Max Walter Cornelius, Charlotte and Olivia Cornelius; his granddaughter Amy Cornelius (Nash Prince) of Raleigh, NC; his daughter Suzy VanMetre (Eddie) of Williamsport, MD; his granddaughters, Rachel VanMetre of Harper's Ferry, WV and Veronica VanMetre of Williamsport, MD; and his sister Ruth Orndorff of Shepherdstown, WV. He is also survived by numerous cousins and nieces.
