It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thelma Irene Mellott (Williamsport, Maryland), who passed away on August 31, 2022, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Roy McClellan; her husband James Russell "Shorty" Mellott; her daughter Jacqueline Mellott Melonas; and her siblings, Patsy L. Hockenberry and Paul M. Hockenberry.
She is survived by: her children, Debra Irene Mellott of Frederick, MD, James "J. R." Russell Mellott II (Carol) of Williamsport, MD and Douglas Mellott (Deena) of Halfway, MD; her son-in-law James Melonas of Columbia, MD; her sisters, Shirley Hockenberry Rhodes of Downsville, MD and Nancy Hockenberry Britner of Carmichael, PA; her grandchildren, G. Mark Melonas (Sara Daly) of Baltimore, MD, James E. "Taki" Melonas (Margee Haines) of Asheville, NC, Whittney Mellott-Hoch (D. J.) of Williamsport, MD, Leah Davoli (Matthew) of Fayetteville, NC, Tyler Mellott of Hagerstown, MD and Ethan Mellott of Hagerstown, MD; and her great grandchildren, Zoe Melonas, James Melonas, Orrin Melonas, Charisma Mellott, Lilli Hoch, Emma Hoch and Hannah Hoch. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
