He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. "Bub" Roach and Estella D. Hovermale Teach; his wife Barbara A. "Bobbie" Moats; his son William D. Shupp, Jr. (Irma Shiflett); and his siblings, Charles W. Roach, Phyllis J. Tracy and Helen V. Craddock.
He is survived by: his children, Donald L. Shupp (Joanie), Rickie A. Shupp and Robin L. Fiddler (Yogi); his grandchildren, Tara L. Kabrick, Heather A. Ray and Hunter L. Fiddler; and his siblings, Roy Roach (Jan), Sandy Messner, Danny Messner (Mina), Marllee Brown, Phoebe Leggett (Fred), Irene Stendal and Mary Riley (Mark). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
