He was predeceased by: his parents, William Franklin and Bessie Ringer Polley; and his brothers, Dale Polley and Robert Polley. He is survived by: his wife Valerie Jean McKinsey Polley; his children, Belinda K. Martin (Donald) of Hagerstown, MD and Melvin L. Polley, Jr. (Rebecca) of Hagerstown, MD; his siblings, Charles Polley and Laura Belle Trumpower of Hagerstown, MD; his grandchildren, Destiny Martin-Rowland (Bret), Heather Martin (Josh Crampton) and Devin Martin; and his great grandchildren, Addalynne and Charleigh Rowland.
