He was predeceased by: his parents, Kelley M. Householder and Letha Hawvermale Householder; his sisters, Geneva Householder Paugh and Pauline Householder Cox; and his sons, Joseph L. Householder II and David Scott Householder.
He is survived by: his siblings, Virgil R. Householder, Foster P. Householder, Ralph Householder and Jean; his wife Delores Corbin Householder; his grandson Christopher Householder (Allyson); his daughter-in-law Kimberly Householder of Falling Waters, WV; and his sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Householder of Martinsburg, WV and Treva Householder (Florida). He is also survived by nine nephews and six nieces.
