With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Hurd Sr. of Williamsport, Maryland, born in Chewsville, Maryland, who passed away on November 28, 2020 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence G. Sr. Hurd and Vergie A. Powles Hurd; his wife Hilda "Maxine" Hurd; his son John W. Hurd, Jr.; his daughter-in-law Margarita Hurd; and his siblings, Evelyn "Sis" Keller, Christine Stone, Helen Myers, Clarence Hurd, Jr., Marvin "Dick" Hurd, George "Jim" Hurd, Robert "Bob" Hurd, Bruce "Bucky" Hurd and Ronald Hurd.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Dora Simmons of Clear Spring, MD; and his children, Allen Hurd of New Paris, OH, Jeff Hurd (Luanne) of Williamsport, MD and Debbie Landis (Harry) of Hagerstown, MD. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Masks are required to enter the funeral home as well as social distancing per local health department guidelines.
