He was predeceased by: his parents, John Howell and Mary Katherine Swope Hetzer; his daughter Lisa G. Norris; and his sister Diane M. Statler. He is survived by: his wife Catherine L. "Cathie" Hetzer; his children, Melissa L. Hetzer of Hagerstown, MD, John J. "Jeff" Hetzer (Kim) of North Carolina and Linda D. Lanehart (Steve) of Waynesboro, PA; his grandchildren, Aidan Hetzer, Dennis Norris, Katie Norris, Caleb Lanehart (Michelle) and Jessica Lanehart; his nephew Johnny Sprinkle; and his nieces, Carolyn Forsythe and Cindy Everly. He is also survived by 3 great grandchildren.
