He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thomas Anderson Sr. and Katherine Elizabeth Anderson (Miller); his wife Peggy Mae Anderson (Zimmerman); and his daughter Beverly Shank (Greg). He is survived by: his sons, Ronald E. Anderson (Patricia) of Tampa, FL, Rickey Anderson (Roland) of Greensboro, NC and Thomas Anderson (Diahann) of Williamsport, MD; his brother Donald Anderson; his grandchildren, Michelle, Stephanie, Steven and Justin; his great grandchildren, Rory, Connie, Lindsey, Kendra, Jonathan, Ainsley, Jack and Maggie; and his caregivers, Dottie, Mary "Peaches" and Aissa.
