It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janice Lorraine Spitler of Williamsport, Maryland, born in Hagerstown, Maryland, who passed away on November 20, 2022, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Wayne Jacob Kershner and Isabel Kershner (Knodle); her husband Neal Bauserman Spitler; and her brothers, Leonard Ray Kershner and William Kershner.
She is survived by: her daughter Cynthia S. Moats of Williamsport, MD; her sister Connie Daley of Hagerstown; her sister-in-law Jeanie Kershner of Smithsburg, MD; her grandchildren, Shanna Banzhoff Lane (Joey), Denver A. Banzhoff of Spring Valley, CA and Janeal U. Banzhoff of Spring Valley, CA; and her great grandchildren, Jeremy A. Jaramillo of El Paso, TX, Jeni Lane of Winchester, VA, Harley Lane of Hagerstown, MD and Jade Cynthia Banzhoff of Spring Valley, CA.. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is offering qualified families up to $9, 000 for funeral expenses incurred due to the death of a loved one from COVID-19. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused immense grief for so many people.
