He was predeceased by: his parents, Millard Leon and Josephine Elizabeth Rhodes (Gaylor); his wife Rosalie Josephine Rhodes (Milburn); his daughter Kathy A. Cunningham; his great grandchild Brook Savanna Koivu; and his siblings, Jane E. Reeder, Bernice M. Garnes, Anna L. Ruck, Marvin L. Rhodes, Roy G. Rhodes, George A. Rhodes and John J. Rhodes.
He is survived by: his children, Carol D. Miller (John), Janie K. Wiebold (Kris), G. Steven Rhodes (Tina) and Kimberly E. Trumpower (Robert Harbaugh); his son-in-law Timothy Cunningham; and his siblings, Mary Ellen Hornbaker, Bonnie S. Knight, Catherine V. Wigfield and David L. Rhodes. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
