He was predeceased by: his parents, John B. H. "Andy" Grimes, II and Mary Catherine Penn (Rice); his half-sister Sandra Penn; and his son-in-law Fulton Trend Dashiell. He is survived by: his wife Christine Ann "Chris" Grimes (Lushbaugh); his daughters, Sherry Grimes Dashiell and Michelle Lea Grimes; his granddaughters, Trenelle Christine Dashiell and River Christine Utterback; and his nieces, Melissa and Katie.
