He is survived by: his children, Betty Maugans of Hagerstown, MD, Dale L. Shank, Jr. of Hagerstown, MD, Darrin W. Shank, Sr. of Hagerstown, MD, Jeffery B. Shank of Hagerstown, MD, David A. Shank of Hagerstown, MD and Brian M. Shank of Hagerstown, MD; his sister Mary C.; his cousins, Faye D. McCoy of Boonsboro, MD and Marjorie A. Leatherman of Boonsboro, MD; and his brothers, Edward G. Shank of Hagerstown, MD, Leonard H. Shank of Hagerstown, MD and James O. Shank of Hagerstown, MD. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
