He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon H. Jones and Edith Powell Jones; his wife Peggy Forsythe Jones; and his nephew Steven C. Jones. He is survived by: his children, Robin J. Parker (Ernie) of Parsonsburg, Susan J. Timmons of Berlin, Kim J. Brittingham (Jay) of Pittsville and G. Tracy Jones of Salisbury; his grandchildren, Christopher L. Robinson (Jamie), Michael S. Hearn, Joshua T. Parker (Loni), Justin E. Parker, Erica N. Jones, Brooke E. Jones and Matthew G. Jones; his great grandchildren, Tyler C. Robinson and Camden D. Brumwell; his brother Charles G. Jones (Kaye); his nephews, Michael C. Jones (Sheila) and G. Scott Jones (Lauren); and his girlfriend Virginia L. Muir.
