She was predeceased by: her parents, John Hammett and Leora Hammett (DeLong); and her sister Mary Alice Deem. She is survived by: her husband Robert Lee Dawson of White Plains, MD; her sisters, Johnna Pieper (Norris) of Zanesville, OH and Barbara Morgan (Charles) of Vienna, WV; her son Gregory Dawson (Janinne) of Centreville, VA; and her grandchildren, Benjamin Dawson, Brooke Dawson of Centreville, VA, Garrett Deen and Gabriel Deen. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the music department of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, or the Humane Society of Charles County.
