She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Edgar H. Yox; her children, Edgar G. Yox (Lisa), Shirley Swalin, Darlene Malick (George) and Eileen Yox; and her grandchildren, Edgar, Holly, Craig, Carrie, Becky, Chris, Matthew, Heather, Brandy, Joey and Rachel. She was also cherished by twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

“My deepest heartfelt condolences to mom mom's family. She had an angelic soul that was felt by everyone who knew her. I met her and Edgar in 2006 when they first came to my restaurant in Perry Hall and we quickly became friends. When I had to close my restaurant in 2008 Shirley invited me to come talk with her about my situation ,which seemed dire at the time, and she truly helped me with her compassionate and supportive advice. She was a beautiful person and I'm sure she has gotten her wings!”
